July 30th 2009 Dear Parents, "Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands." Psalm 90:17 The past two months have been very busy ones at Lord of
Life. The schoolagers and the Pre-K
classes have been learning Touch-Math to improve their math skills. They have also enjoyed swimming each
week. The schoolagers have enjoyed
skating, bowling, and trips to the library as well as reading and math
activities to sharpen up their skills.
In a few more weeks, they will be back in school. All of the children enjoyed “Crocodile Dock – Where fearless kids
shine God’s Light”- Mrs. Marcy in the infant room is back part time after her knee surgery. Mrs. Milissa is out on maternity leave. She had a baby girl on July 6. We’ve all been struggling with the heat and drought. Fortunately, the children were able to enjoy eating some tomatoes and squash from their garden before the heat zapped everything. The hardest part is not being able to go outside in the afternoon. When children don’t get outside time, they get very antsy and teachers get irritable. We try to get them outside in the morning as much as possible. Let us remember to thank God for His daily presence in our lives and for the privilege of serving others in His name. And Lord please send some rain. Sincerely, Brenda Albrecht, Director |
