Dear Parents,

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and prosper for us the work of our hands.”  Psalm 90:17

This summer has been a very busy one.  The school-agers have enjoyed swimming twice each week.  They have also learned to skate and bowl.  They visited the San Antonio Children’s Museum and the Witte Museum.  The school-agers and the Pre-K class went to Pump It Up! And Amazing Jump!  We try to find ways to keep the children active as well as cool.  That has been a challenge with the heat and drought that we have been experiencing.  They have also been doing reading and math activities to sharpen up on their skills.  School will be starting in just a few weeks.  All of the children participated in our vacation bible school, Group’s Panda Mania where they learned that God is Wild about You!  They have been singing and dancing to the music ever since.  On July 24 we had our annual Family Swim Party with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs at Kirby Swimming Pool.

The center was blessed in many ways in 2011.  Most of these blessings were made possible through Stimulus Funds and the hard work of staff teachers.  Four teachers, Miss Antionette, Miss Holly, Ms. Jennifer, and Mrs. Maggie obtained their CDA (Child Development Associate) Degree.  We are very proud of them.  The children who come to the center are blessed by the knowledge they acquired through their studies.  Ms. Linda also went through extensive training to become a Texas School Ready qualified teacher.  We are now using the same curriculum and evaluations used in Texas Public Schools.  We have also been given many literacy materials for the preschool and Pre-K classrooms.  The government and the public are becoming more aware of the importance of a good early childhood program.

Let us remember to thank God for His daily presence in our lives and for the privilege of serving others in His name;  And Lord please send some rain.

Sincerely,

Brenda Albrecht, Director
